Having now sold just north of 5 million copies worldwide, a sequel could now be on the cards for Techland’s Dying Light.
“To be honest, I think even we are a little surprised by the scope of our success” game producer Tymon Smektala told Videogamer yesterday. “We knew that we’d made a good game. But that successful? We are in the best 10 best selling games in the US right now for the first half of the year, so tremendous success. More than 5 million copies sold.”
Smektala also teased the idea of a sequel, but also strongly indicated that this is nothing more than an idea at this point. “We have a lot of very ambitious ideas so first we need to check that these ideas are even doable with the tech that the current consoles provide” he stated.
Techland recently committed to a huge line of expansions for Dying Light, one of which, The Following, recently got a brand new trailer, showing driveable vehicles and new locations for the first time in the game.
