Mighty No. 9, the crowdfunded spiritual successor to Mega Man, has now been delayed till ‘early next year’ in order to fix a number of bugs.
“We are unable to confirm a final release date at this time” stated developer Comcept in a message to kickstarter backers of the game. “However, we will be aiming for a release in Q1 2016. Once a solid release date is set, we will announce it immediately to our backers and fans.”
“All of the core content for the game is developed and in a complete state,” continued the company. “However, there are still bugs and issues pertaining to the online features that are included in the game. These bugs and issues have a direct effect on our enjoyment of the game, so a decision was made to work these issues out before release.”
Late last month, the product pages on various retail sites suggested that Might No. 9 had already been delayed till early 2016, however at the time publisher Deep Silver failed to comment on the rumours. Now we know these rumours to be true, and that Mega Man will be delayed till early 2016 in an effort to polish the game prior to its release date.
