Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Won’t Work With Larger Phones

Bethesda has announced that the real life Pip-Boy in the Fallout 4 Collector’s Edition will not be compatible with larger phones, like the iPhone 6+.

The publisher/developer made the recent announcement via an official blog post on the Bethesda website, and detailed which specific smart phones would work with the Pip-Boy. The eligible phones include the iPhone 6, iPhone 5/5s, iPhone 4/4s and the Samsung Galaxy 5 and 4.

Larger phones, such as the iPhone 6+, will not be functional with the real life Pip-Boy. A foam insert will be available that will house most phones except the larger ones, however Bethesda has announced that the Pip-Boy companion app will still be available for use on these larger phones.

The Pip-Boy editions have predictably sold out across Europe and North America.

The post states “As we wanted to stay faithful to the dimensions of the in-game model, any smart phones larger than the models listed will not fit inside the wearable device. For these larger devices, our Pip-Boy companion app will still be available.

The Fallout 4 Collector’s Editions have been selling out across Europe and North America within the first few days of going on sale early in the week of E3. Since then, Bethesda have been working to restock the limited editions, but aren’t promising anything to fans who already missed out.

Fallout 4 is slated for release on PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One on November 10th, 2015.
