With the multiplayer beta for Gears of War: Ultimate Edition wrapping up over the past few days, The Coalition has shared statistics from the event.
The beta lasted a total of 8 days, since Microsoft’s E3 press conference on Monday 15th of June, with just over 786,000 players playing a total of over 1 million matches. There were actually more curb stomp executions than lancer chainsaw kills, with 1.7 million curb stomps to 1.6 million chainsaw kills.
The frag tag grenade method of killing happened over 145,000 times, which equates to a lot of people getting humiliated in one of the worst ways I can remember in online gaming. In total, the beta eclipsed over 120 years worth of play time from over 1 million people, signalling that the remaster could be in for some nice sales figures when it releases in August.
