After Destiny publisher Activision announced a partnership with energy drink brand Red Bull, Dying Light developer Techland has now poked a bit of fun at the partnership.
Due to release in September with the Taken King expansion, the partnership with Red Bull is set to bring a new quest to Destiny. It’ll be available for when the expansion launches in September for those who have a code through the purchase of a Red Bull, or later for those who don’t in January on multiple platforms.
The image below was then posted on Twitter via Techland, with the caption “We’re jumping on the latest trend in game marketing!” The picture is a clear shot at the Red Bull product, stating that water is “Delicious and great for your health” It’s always fun from the consumer and media standpoint to see these kind of jokes from developers, but I’d bet it’s yet another thorn in the side for Activision.
Bungie recently got in hot water this past week for announcing a controversial Collectors Edition for the upcoming Taken King expansion that featured exclusive content for new players only. Comments by the games manager did nothing to quell anger from fans, but the developer has since backtracked on their statements, promising new content for long time Destiny players.
