Neil Druckmann, co-director on the upcoming Uncharted 4, has suggested that the next entry in the franchise may be Nathan Drake’s final adventure.
“The first three games were the set-up, and if we were to do one more, how would we top it all off?” Druckmann answered when questioned on the subject. “How would we bring Nathan Drake’s journey to a close? Everything we’re doing with Uncharted 4 is constructed towards that; bringing closure to a very long journey”
However lead designer Kurt Margenau has also weighed in on the discussion, saying “Druckmann and Bruce Straley, our directors, they have a vision for Uncharted 4. We are fulfilling that vision and it’s going to be awesome. It’s Nathan Drake’s final chapter, so I think fans are going to be happy”
Speculation about the upcoming game being Nathan Drake’s finale were rife when the somewhat ominous subtitle was revealed, that being ‘A Thief’s End‘ The various comments now coming out of Naughty Dog after their E3 presentation at the Sony conference seem to confirm that this game will be Drake’s last.
Uncharted 4 is currently slated to release in Spring of 2016 for Playstation 4.
