Batman: Arkham Knight Batmobile Edition Cancelled

Waner Bros. has today announced that the Batmobile Collectors Edition for the upcoming Batman: Arkham Knight has been cancelled.

Kotaku has reported that those who pre-ordered the Batmobile Edition have received cancellation notices and apology emails from Warner Bros. in Europe, North America and Australia. The main feature of the Collectors Edition was a model Batmobile, that was able to transform as it does in the game.

However Warner Bros. have now abruptly cancelled the Batmobile Edition with less than a week to go till Batman: Arkham Knight releases on consoles and PC. The reason given for the sudden cancellation of the special edition was a lack of quality of the final product on the part of the publisher.

The Batman: Arkham Knight Batmobile Collectors Edition was set to contain the titular transformable Batmobile model, an 80 page art book, a steel case book, a limited edition DC comic of the Arkham Knight and three New 52 Batman skins usable within the game.

The special edition was set to cost £170/$200, and as a token of apology to those who had their pre-orders cancelled, Warner Bros. will be giving away the New 52 skin pack, which contains the Caped Crusader, Robin and Nightwing to those who pre-ordered the cancelled product.

Batman: Arkham Knight will be launching for PC, Playstation 4, Xbox One next week on June 23rd.
