2K Sports will be bringing veteran film director and writer Spike Lee on board to assist with the production of the upcoming NBA 2K16.
Lee, a long time New York Knicks fan since being born and raised in Brooklyn, will be assisting with production in the single player portion of the upcoming sports game. He will be reportedly hired to both write and direct the story behind the single player experience in NBA 2K16.
The story mode in the NBA 2K franchise is widely considered to be one of the selling points of the game, as players each year will step into the shoes of an unproven NBA athlete who has just left playing college sports to try and make it in the league, with everything to gain and nothing to lose.
Lee will bring expertise to the already acclaimed franchise, having first received critical acclaim from his debut feature film Do The Right Thing (1989) and continuing on an upward trajectory from there, winning an Emmy award and being nominated for two Oscar awards.
