Rocksteady Studios, developer on the upcoming Batman: Arkham Knight, has uploaded a new ‘Arkham Insider’ video documentary, detailing some of the game’s features.
The video goes into detail on the game’s ‘new game plus’ mode, which director Sefton Hill expands upon by stating “When you complete the main story, you’re going to unlock new game plus. In new game plus, you can go in and take all your XP through, take your gadgets through that you’ve unlocked; which is a big thing, because that means basically you can do some of the challenges from earlier on in the game but with a whole new suite of gadgets you never had the first time or the upgrades”
Hill has also made a claim referencing the loading screens for Batman: Arkham Knight. “No loading screens as you play through the whole game” the director said. “You can play from the start of the game to the end of the game and you won’t see any loading screens. That’s all a really big important thing for us”
In addition to this, the documentary also revealed that Batman will have possession of a powerful EMP device in the upcoming game. The EMP can be used both to immobilize opposing vehicles and redirect incoming enemy missiles, giving the player a brief time to respond to the incoming threat.
The video also goes into detail on the Batmobile, as Arkham Knight is the first game in the series that features the iconic vehicle. Batman’s car will come equipped with a ‘drone virus’ weapon, that can be used to turn enemy drones into allies for the player, also giving Batman enemy intelligence in the process. Speaking on the Batmobile, Hill said It’s one car versus an army. So this has to be the most badass car you’ve ever seen”
The Riddler challenge sequences are also returning from previous Arkham games for this entry in the series. The video depicts Batman driving through a challenge sequence in the Batmobile, revealing that players will have to use the car to accomplish some of the Riddler’s challenges.
Batman: Arkham Knight will release for PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One on June 23rd.
